The Best Natural Diamond Moments From the 2023 MTV VMAs

The 2023 MTV VMAs red carpet saw music’s biggest stars pull out their most jaw-dropping styles for the occasion, decked out in stacks of natural diamond jewelry. 

This year, Nicki Minaj hosted the annual ceremony for the second year in a row, while Diddy is accepted the Global Icon Award. Shakira took home the 2023 Vanguard Award and shook up the stage with an incredible performance of her greatest hits. The night’s performers also included Cardi B, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, Anitta, and more. 

While the stars may have shined on stage, they also lit up the red carpet with their sparkling natural diamonds. Megan Thee Stallion and Karol G both arrived wearing regal jewels from Jacob the Jeweler’s Jacob & Co. while Selena Gomez layered on the diamonds from Pasquale Bruni. Ahead, our favorite natural diamond moments of the night from music’s biggest stars in their brightest bling.

Taylor Swift

Leading the nominations and taking home the Best Pop Award (the very first award of the night), Taylor Swift amped up her black Versace gown with layered Joseph Saidian & Sons vintage gold and diamond necklaces, a vintage VCA onyx ring, Maria Tash Diamond Tassel Hoop Earrings, and the stacked ear cuff and diamond triangle eternity necklace from Anita Ko. 

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez was a lady in red, arriving at the 2023 VMAs in a red lace Oscar de la Renta gown and ethereal Pasquale Bruni diamond floral earrings, rings, and matching bracelet, styled by Erin Walsh. 

Megan Thee Stallion

“Hot girl Meg” stole the show in the Waterfall Collection Diamond Choker from Jacob & Co. Jewelry – gleaming with magnificent princess cut diamonds. The rapper amped up the glamor with a matching cuff, a sparkling statement ring, and blinding diamond studs. Styled by Eric Archibald, Megan Thee Stallion teamed her jewels with a black corseted custom Brandon Blackwood gown.

Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo opted for a subtle diamond moment to go with her shimmering silver Ludovic de Saint Sernin tank gown. The GUTS artist teamed her look with Anita Ko’s classic pear diamond orbit earrings for an added touch of shine.

Ice Spice

Putting the “ice” in Ice Spice, the “Princess Diana” rapper took home the award for Best New Artist, repping her new Dunkin’ collaboration with a bespoke necklace created exclusively for her by jeweler, Eliantte. Spelling out the word, “Munchkins,” with over 80 carats worth of natural diamonds, the necklace references both the Dunkin’ treat and the name of the artist’s fanbase.

Madelyn Cline

Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline evoked old Hollywood glamour on the VMAs red carpet ahead presenting during the ceremony, shining in 80 carats of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. Matching her slinky champagne gown, the actress adorned the house’s Champagne Diamond Caviar Drop Earrings, Champagne Briolette Diamond Pendant necklace and Champagne Diamond Rings.

Doja Cat

Always one to turn heads, Doja Cat shimmered in an assortment of diamond jewelry. Her longtime stylist Brett Alan Nelson decked her out in a Diamond Snake Wrap Cuff and dangling diamond earrings from Nicole Rose jewelry. She added to her shine with a dazzling assortment of rings and diamond-encrusted Yeprem spider ear cuffs to match her spider web-inspired dress by Monse. 

Emily Ratajkowski

Emily Ratajkowski looked every bit the bombshell in a vintage emerald green Jean Paul Gaultier frock and Melissa Kaye jewels, including the brand’s Honey Hoop gold and diamond earrings and the gold Kira bracelet with triple channel set diamonds.

Chlöe Bailey

Sporting a head-turning Roberto Cavalli gown, Chlöe Bailey took to the VMAs pink carpet in Stephanie Gottlieb jewels, including diamond drop earrings, an assortment of rings, and a diamond bracelet.

Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato maintained her edgy sartorial flair with the help of razor-sharp diamond pyramid earrings from Ofira Jewels, as well as layered cluster bands from the jewelry house and stacks of Lorraine Schwartz rings. The powerhouse songstress teamed her luxury baubles with black minidress and an oversized leather coat from Chinese label Buerlangma.

Taking a style cue from Pebbles Flinstone, Saweetie debuted her new Area Fall/Winter 2023 Couture gown, fresh off the runway, with a pair of diamond embellished hoop earrings.

Colombian singer Karol G stepped out on the red carpet in the Jacob & Co. high jewelry diamond earrings to bring her sheer Ashi Studio gown to the next level.

Tiffany Haddish

A presenter this evening, Tiffany Haddish stepped out in a sheer Jason Wu gown with REZA jewelry, including diamond hoop crescent earrings, a white gold band with baguette-cut diamonds, and the brand’s Ruban ring and the Spirale ring.

Bebe Rexha

Bebe Rexha shined bright in Joseph Saidian & Sons vintage Art Deco diamond bracelets and shimmering fringed emerald chandelier earrings paired with a black leather bustier gown.

Lil Wayne

Rapper Lil Wayne wore an impressively hefty diamond pinky ring while performing his songs “Kat Food” and “Uproar” at the 2023 MTV VMAs.

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake arrived at the ceremony wearing a suite of Tiffany & Co. accessories, including a HardWear graduated link necklace in white gold with pavé diamonds and a lock bangle with diamond accents.
