The Met Gala has evolved from a New York high society fundraiser in support of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute to the year’s most highly anticipated fashion event, thanks to the hundreds of celebrities, athletes and luminaries that grace the iconic arrival stairs wearing one-of-a-kind looks by the world’s top maisons.
As the prestigious happening makes its grand return just in time for the Costume Institute’s 75th anniversary with the theme “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”, which honors American culture and fashion heritage, we have our eyes on the natural diamond jewellery elevating Met Gala guests’ best looks.

In true rock star style, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky arrived fashionably late with A$AP wearing Jason of Beverly Hills diamond spiked earrings, diamond pins including Lang Antiques South Sea Pearl and Diamond Jabot Pin, and an ERL spring 2022 by Eli Russell Linnetz outfit.

Actress Kiki Layne turned heads in custom KHIRY Fine Jewelry, which was a collaboration that took six months to complete. Layne’s earrings were describe as “a pair of globe drop earrings topped with a sculptural Black Power fist silhouette, paired with the KHIRY Signature Khartoum Silhouette and a trio of rings, pairing the two motifs, all set with impeccable white diamonds,” explained KHIRY designer and founder Jameel Mohammed, who is a participant in the Natural Diamond Council’s Emerging Designers Diamond Initiative.
