Known for its contemporary natural diamond designs and commitment to sustainability, luxury jewelry brand Tabayer has recently announced its new role as an ambassador member for Fairmined. This initiative certifies responsibly sourced gold. This partnership highlights Tabayer’s dedication to creating diamond jewelry that is beautiful and guaranteed to be ethically and environmentally conscious.

As the demand for transparency and responsibility grows in the luxury sector, Tabayer stands out by exclusively using Fairmined-certified gold in its pieces. Fairmined gold is traceable and sourced from small-scale mining communities that adhere to strict social and environmental standards. By choosing this path, Tabayer ensures that every piece of jewelry it crafts dazzles and contributes positively to the world.

The decision to use Fairmined gold speaks to a larger shift in the jewelry industry, where luxury is no longer just about opulence but also about integrity. By using Fairmined gold, Tabayer is helping reshape the narrative around gold mining, just as the natural diamond industry has done with its focus on ensuring that the recovery of every natural diamond positively impacts the people, community, and environment that bring them from mine to finger.

In 2023, Nigora Tokhtabayeva, Tabayer’s founder, and her team traveled to Colombia to visit the Chede mine, where they recover Fairmined gold. They reinvest the premium paid for Fairmined gold into these communities, funding essential health, education, and infrastructure projects. This visit further solidified their commitment, as they saw firsthand the Fairmined certification’s positive impact it has on local communities.

In September, Tabayer debuted a captivating short film directed by Errol Rainey that documents its journey to Colombia. This film beautifully captures the breathtaking Colombian landscape and provides a glimpse into the origins of the precious metal. Following the screening, a panel discussion will take place featuring Will Kahn, contributing editor at Town & Country for jewelry, watches, and style; Gina D’Amato, the executive director of the Alliance for Responsible Mining; and moderated by Erin Allweiss, founder of The No. 29. This event will shed light on Tabayer’s commitment to ethical sourcing and Fairmined gold.

This push for ethically sourced materials, such as Fairmined gold and natural diamonds, signifies a more significant industry-wide transformation. Luxury is not just about aesthetics but also about responsibility, empowerment, and sustainability. Tabayer’s choice to become a Fairmined ambassador reinforces this commitment and serves as an example for others in the industry to follow.

As the brand continues to create stunning jewelry, the message behind each piece is clear: luxury can—and should—be sustainable. Through partnerships like Fairmined, Tabayer ensures that when its jewelry adorns its customers, it also uplifts communities, leaving a positive mark on the world. Just as the natural diamond industry has shown the world that it’s possible to mine responsibly, Fairmined proves that the same can be done with gold, helping shape a brighter, more ethical future for the jewelry industry.
